Nurse Practitioner Job Description - Free Essay Example

Doctors used to work more than one hundred hours a week and sometimes shifts longer than twenty-four hours. This was changed due to the Libby Zion Case, where an eighteen-year-old college student named Libby Zion died due to what her father believed to be overworked interns and doctors. A medical professional is now allowed to work no more than eighty hours a week and must not work a shift longer than twenty-four hours. Doctors are able to diagnose a person with ailments and prescribe medications. Doctors also may refer patients with diseases such as cancer or brain injuries to other doctors who have specialties in that area, such as oncologists or neurologists. According to a study conducted by the American Medical Association in February of 2017, of the one thousand two hundred doctors, residents and interns interviewed nine out of ten were satisfied and happy with their career choice. The study also names that some reasons why doctors chose to become doctors as their career. The top reasons named are how they or a loved member of their family were treated or for personal experience as a volunteer. A nurse practitioner is a person who is trained, independent, licensed healthcare clinician and focuses on managing a person’s health conditions, including treating illnesses and injuries. They also support injury prevention. Nurse practitioners can also prescribe medication. The majority of nurse practitioners have a specialty in which they practice in. Some of these specialties that are common choices are pediatrics, family practices, and women’s health. Sub-specialties may even be chosen and are in areas such as oncology, dermatology, psychiatry, cardiology and behavioral health. To become a nurse practitioner, you must first obtain an undergraduate degree in nursing. You must then gain experience as a registered nurse. The next step to becoming a nurse practitioner is to earn a graduate degree. This could be a Master’s of Science in Nursing, or MSN, or a Doctor of Nursing Practice, or DNP. MSN’s are typically two to three years full time, and focus on advanced nursing subjects such as pharmacology and pathophysiology. DNP’s, however, are typically three to four years long, more clinically focused than research, and focuses on a deeper understanding of MSN subjects, including coursework in evidence-based practice, diagnostic s, and disease treatment. There is a small movement toward a required DNP to become a nurse practitioner, but the majority of states still require just an MSN degree. After a graduate degree is acquired, a person must pass a Nurse Practitioner license test. To be a candidate for Nurse Practitioner licensure, a person must hold a master’s degree in nursing, a valid RN license. Nurse practitioners work in private practices and in hospitals. There is currently a nursing shortage which means that there is an abundance of nurse practitioner jobs available. Hospital have begun to hire more nurse practitioners to offset the amount of work and pressure that are put on other hospital personnel. Nurse practitioners earned an average of $97,990 as of May 2014 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. One of the highest paid specialties for nurse practitioner is Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiology. CRNA’s make an average of $153,780 a year as of May 2014. A survey conducted by Medstudy Nurse Center found that out of 3,417 nurse practitioners an tremendous number said that they are happy with their choice to become a nurse. According to this study, eighty two percent of nurse practitioners claimed that they would choose nursing as their profession again if given the choice. The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that there will be a thirty percent increase in jobs for nurse practitioners from 2016 to 2026. Working in the medical field gives many people a grand sense of pride and a sense of accomplishment. Doctors and nurse practitioners alike enjoy their jobs and do their best to care for thir patients to the best of their ability. However, there are more upsides to becoming a nurse practitioner than a doctor. A Doctor of Nursing Practice degree cost vastly less than a medical degree. Nurse practitioners also spend much less time working toward a degree than doctors do. Nurse practitioner’s salaries, compared to those of doctors are much better compared to the payment per hour. In comparison, according to bestmedicaldegrees.com, a doctor’s lifetime income after their loan debt is around $4.7 million dollars. Their lifetime hours worked is 142,989. When this is adjusted, this comes out to $33.03 an hour. When you compare thi s salary to a high school teacher, doctors earn three cents less an hour. This is a very upsetting statistic that is greatly overlooked. Nurse practitioners, however, have a payment that is much better proportioned to their level o schooling. Being a nurse practitioner is a much better option due to payment, hours, school loans, and education required is much less harsh than that of a person who has went through the process of becoming a doctor.

August Wilsons Pittsburgh Cycle

After writing his third play, August Wilson realized he was developing something quite monumental. He had created three different plays set in three different decades, detailing the hopes and struggles of African-Americans. In the early 1980s, he decided that he wanted to create a cycle of ten plays, one play for each decade. Collectively, they would become known as the Pittsburgh Cycle — all but one take place in the citys Hills District. August Wilsons 10 play series is arguably one of the finest literary achievements in contemporary drama. Although they were not created in chronological order, here is a brief synopsis of each play, organized by the decade each one represents. Gem Of the Ocean Set in 1904, a young African-American named Citizen Barlow, like many others traveling north in the years after the Civil War arrives in Pittsburgh in search of purpose, prosperity, and redemption. A woman named Aunt Ester, who is rumored to be 285 years old and possess healing powers, decides to help the young man on his life’s journey. Joe Turner’s Come and Gone The title warrants a bit of historical context — Joe Turner was the name of a plantation owner who, in spite of the emancipation proclamation, forced African-Americans to work in his fields. In contrast, Seth and Bertha Holly’s boarding house offers room and nourishment to wayward souls who have been mistreated, abused, and sometimes even kidnapped by members of white society. The play takes place in the year 1911. Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom As four African-American blues musicians wait for Ma Rainey, the famous lead singer of their band, they exchange off-the-cuff jokes and cutting-edge barbs. When the blues diva does arrive, the tensions continue to mount, pushing the group towards its breaking point. The tone is a combination of bitterness, laughter, and the blues, an ideal representation of the black experience during the late 1920s. The Piano Lesson A piano that has been handed down for generations becomes the source of conflict for members of the Charles family. Set in 1936, the storyline reflects the significance of objects in relationship to the past. This play garnered August Wilson his second Pulitzer Prize. Seven Guitars Touching upon the theme of music once again, this drama begins with the death of guitarist Floyd Barton in 1948. Then, the narrative shifts to the past, and the audience witnesses the protagonist in his younger days, ultimately leading up to his demise. Fences Perhaps Wilson’s most renowned work, Fences explores the life and relationships of Troy Maxson, an activist-minded trash collector, and former baseball hero. The protagonist represents the struggle for justice and fair treatment during the 1950s. This moving drama earned Wilson his first Pulitzer Prize. Two Trains Running This multiple award-winning drama is set in Pittsburgh 1969, in the height of the battle for civil rights. In spite of the political and social change that sweeps through the nation, many of the characters of this play are too cynical, too down-trodden to experience hope for the future or rage for the ongoing tragedies. Jitney Set in a cab driver’s station during the boisterous late 1970s, this character-driven play features sharp-witted, hustling co-workers who gossip, argue, and dream in between jobs. King Hedley II Often thought of as the bitterest and most tragic of Wilson’s cycle, the play focuses on the downfall of the prideful ex-con protagonist, King Hedley II (the son of one of the characters from Seven Guitars). The mid-1980s setting finds Wilson’s beloved Hills District in a dismal, poverty-stricken neighborhood. Radio Golf With this 1990s setting, the final play in the cycle tells the story of affluent Harmond Wilks, a successful politician and real estate developer — who considers tearing down a historic old house that once belonged to none other than Aunt Ester. A Critique of “Don’t Blame the Eater” by David Zinczenko

â€Å"I couldnt open up a magazine, you couldnt read a newspaper, you couldnt turn on the TV without hearing about the obesity epidemic in America.† is a quote by Morgan Spurlock, that acutely describes the obesity problem going on in America. Any way one can want to talk about the problem, it will always be a huge dilemma throughout the United States. For a long time now, people have been discussing who is to blame for the obesity crisis going on. Some people prefer to blame the government, several blame the restaurants, others the parents and even the schools receive criticism for obesity. People should develop their own ideas on the obesity crisis and to figure out who is to blame and how to fix the problem. The contradiction between these two types of communication style indicates the preferable personality of the associates in a corporate setting. However, it can be inferred that every organisation requires the person who maintain a high transparency level and expressive body language. The assertive communication style fosters precision and clarity. It is associated with the proper professionalism and politeness. Macbeths Change from War Hero to Evil Murderer free essay sample

Pride is a very dangerous trait. It can take you over, make you feel self conscious, and eventually change you altogether. When put under pressure, pride will make a decision for you. In the book of Genesis in the Bible, Eve, along with the serpent, manipulates Adam to eat the fruit from the tree. She teases him and because of his pride he eats the apple and is thrown out of Heaven, just like in Shakespeare’s play Macbeth. Macbeth is full of pride and as Lady Macbeth manipulates him and makes him feel pathetic, so his character slowly but surely changes from a War Hero into an Evil Murderer. At the beginning of the play, Macbeth is portrayed as a magnificent war hero – a saviour. In the second scene we meet a Captain reporting from the battlefield, praising Macbeth; â€Å"For brave Macbeth – well he deserves that name(†¦) Till he fac’d the slave, Which ne’er shook hands, nor bade farewell to him till he unseam’d him from the nave to th’chaps and fix’d his head upon our battlement. † To which Duncan replies, â€Å"O valiant cousin, worthy gentleman.† Shakespeare has specifically chosen his words in this section to display Macbeth as he is at his best; a ruthless warrior who would stop at nothing to defend his country. Throughout this scene Shakespeare uses words like valiant, honour and noble to describe Macbeth, to exaggerate his victory, and the fact that everybody is looking up to him. At the end of the scene, the current Thane of Cawdor’s death is pronounced, and it is agreed that Macbeth has won this title. On their return from battle, Macbeth and Banquo stumble across the three witches. Of course, the witches had planned this meeting however Macbeth and Banquo, unaware of this, were worried and started to ask questions due to the witches’ unearthly appearance. The witches all hail Macbeth, Thane of Glamis, then Thane of Cawdor, and finally they hail him as King hereafter. These are the witches’ prophesies of Macbeth’s life to come. As soon as he hears the Witches’ predictions, Ross and Angus enter the scene and tell Macbeth that he is to be the new Thane of Cawdor. This means that one of the Witches’ prophecies has already come true, and Macbeth’s dark thoughts begin. Aside from Banquo he starts imagining the things that he would have to do to become King; â€Å"My thought, whose murder yet but fantastical, shakes so my single state of man that is function† shows how Macbeth is shaken by the very thought of a murder – this is a h uge contrast from the bloodthirsty war hero at the beginning. Macbeth continues to have dark thoughts when he says aside â€Å"The prince of Cumberland: that is a step on which I must fall down, or else o’erleap, for in my way it lies. Stars hide your fires, let not light see my black and deep desires†. From this point Macbeth is no longer the selfless, loyal and patriotic man he was because these thoughts have engulfed him so quickly that it would be impossible to get them out of his head. Immediately Macbeth believes the witches. This is for many reasons; one being the fact that their prophecies are becoming true before his eyes, and the other being a psychological thing – he liked what he heard and therefore it all seems much more possible. For example, somebody goes to a fortune teller to hear what they want to hear – and if they hear it then it ‘becomes true’. In Shakespeare’s time there was a lot of superstition about witchcraft and supernatural powers. At that time people believed that witches represented a so called â€Å"dark side† in human nature. The witches are a metaphor for the evil conscience inside of Macbeth. The witches didn’t have the power to bring Macbeth down they were just able to lead Macbeth into doing things which he shouldn’t do. When the witches prophesise that Macbeth will be King they only plant a seed in his mind, but through his many murderous and scandalous activities, throughout t he play, he nourishes that seed with the purely selfish intention of securing his throne. We meet Lady Macbeth in Scene 5, reading aloud Macbeth’s letter informing her of what he has just experienced. Like Eve, Lady Macbeth knows exactly what has to be done to be able to manipulate her husband. In order for Macbeth to take the throne, hence her becoming his Queen, she would have to persuade him to kill Duncan. She therefore she takes it upon herself to be the driving person. She asks the spirits to â€Å"unsex† her and fill her from the crown to the toe of direst cruelty and make her blood thick. She wants her pathway of remorse to be stopped up, and she asks, â€Å"And pall me in the dunnest smoke of hell, nor heaven peep through the blanket of the dark, to cry ‘Hold, hold’† She asks for all of these because she doesn’t want to be cowardly when it comes to Duncan the current King’s murder. The last sentence about heaven peeping through the blanket of the dark has many interpretations. It could be suggested that she wants t he night to cover any sign of mysterious things going on, so that it is pitch black, and another interpretation is that she doesn’t want God to see what they are doing. If heaven peeped through the blanket of the dark to cry ‘Hold, hold’ it could be God calling out to stop what they are doing. Although they are committing this crime they don’t want to be punished for it. Again, this is just like in the Garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve wanted the apple, but they didn’t want God to know that they had taken it, so they hid. Macbeth was reluctant to kill the King because of his own sense of right and wrong. He knew deep down that it shouldn’t be done because he is a loyal and trusted hero and for him to do it would go against everything that he should be working for in protecting his country. He wished that he had the same ruthless mind as he did in battle because it would have been so much easier for him. As soon as he had a shadow of doubt, Lady Macbeth was there to persuade him into believing it is for the best to kill Duncan. There are many ways in which she manipulates him into thinking that he is not worth anything and that he has to prove himself to her. She starts by saying he is a coward, and not a man. She puts his confidence down and then she moves on to how he is making her feel. She tells him that he doesn’t love her enough to kill Duncan, and if he really loved her then he would do as she asked. She also reminded him that she would be breaking a promise to her. Although they play off each other throughout the play, and there is much maliciousness about their relationship, I think that there is love deep inside and Macbeth doesn’t want to let her down. He therefore continues with the plan to kill Duncan, and does so at the beginning of Act 2. After the murder Macbeth and Lady Macbeth return to the courtyard to wash off the blood. Here, Macbeth complains that the blood won’t come off his hands. Lady Macbeth says, â€Å"My hands are of your colour, but I shame to wear a heart so white†. This is an important quote because relating to Macbeth’s pride, this is the ultimate put-down. She, a woman would be shamed to wear a heart so white – to be such a coward – so how could Macbeth be so weak and look so cowardly? She plans on being the strong one and not to give in to the cowardice which has taken over Macbeth. This is really Lady Macbeth giving him a ‘telling off’ for being so childish, and not taking it like a man. Soon after the murder has been committed Macbeth starts seeing things, and because of these visions he ends up going mad. He sees the dagger which he used to kill Duncan, and he thinks that it could be witchcraft but it’s actually just his mind playing tricks on him. Throughout the play his condition continues to deteriorate. Inside Lady Macbeth’s hard exterior soon breaks, and she also becomes mad. This is when Macbeth is able to regain control. Many around the castle start to realise that it is him who committed the crime, and therefore he has to resort to more immoral doings; some because he is not in his right mind. His decisions are misinformed and all the time he is becoming more and more evil. The play unfolds, and it is found out that Macbeth murdered Duncan and many others in trying to disguise it. The witches’ prophesise that Macbeth will not be killed by a man born of woman, so he is confident that he will not be killed for his wrong doings. It turns out that Macduff was ripped untimely from his mother’s womb, and therefore he kills Macbeth. At the end of the play, Malcolm describes Macbeth as a â€Å"dead butcher† and Lady Macbeth his â€Å"fiend-like Queen†. This can be interpreted at quite literally a dead butcher, because he is now dead and because he butchered so many people – it was his profession. But it could be portraying how he was when he was alive, because he used to be a man who would butcher other soldiers in battle back when he was the war hero but the he ended up with this old person dead, and a new man emerging as a murderer. Macbeth’s character was too full of pride for his own good, and Lady Macbeth was too manipulative. Just as in Adam and Eve; Adam was too much of a coward and Eve was very persuasive. Along with all of the many messages behind the story of Macbeth, Shakespeare uses this underlying religious metaphor to teach us about selfishness, and the risks of pride. Pride is the key to unlocking the reason behind Macbeth’s huge character shift. We can see this by simply looking at the definition. The definition of pride is: Pride is the cultivation, preservation or exalting of self. It is a protecting of self. Pride is commitment to self. It is building up ourselves in our own eyes or in the eyes of others. Pride is an excessive belief in ones superiority, worth, merit. Pride is a root cause of many sins.

Others know all about it, but they don't realize that they themselves, yes, themselves, are racists. Huh, I'm not racist. What do you mean? I'm more open minded than that. Give me some credit. Then they turn around and discriminate against someone else's human rights. Not racist, yah right. What is one of the main problems with racism? It's that many people live in racist conditions, without even seeing it. It flies right over their heads. Schools, the workplace, our community, our friends house, even our homes. We hear a racial slur, oh well, it's just a joke. Hardly. If you think racist joke are harmless than you should take a reality check. Racist jokes are just the start of it. Many people think the jokes are funny. Maybe they are, but they still hurt the people the jokes are about. Some of the worst racists are the ones who think that they are not racist and really are. They really have to come to grips with reality. Why are they some the worst racists? They are, because they can't comprehend what is happening. They don't realize what they are saying and doing are racist. Until they come to grips with it there is no problem. No problem, in their minds. They say that they aren't racist, even when they don't hire the East Indian employee who was the most qualified of the candidates. Even when the basketball team that they coach is all white. And even the time when they moved from their seat at the movie theater because of the black person next to them. Well, gee, they could have been a criminal. A robber from the hood. After all, isn't that what most of them are. No one deserves to be prejudged like that. The prejudice of people in the world is disgusting. The worst part of it all is that they don't even know that they are doing it. They think it's j! ust no rmal behavior. It doesn't even phase them when they do it. Then there are those who are completely unaware of racism in the world. They walk down the streets, through the stores and working at their job, completely oblivious. They're so blind! Why can't they see what is happening around them? Have they really lived such sheltered lives? Or do they just not want to believe it is happening? If you take someone and put them in the heart of a racist area, they still won't notice the problems. They will see it with their own eyes, but it won't register in their mind. If these people don't open their eyes, they will never see what is happening. What is going to happen to the world if people don't start realizing what is happening? Will we be plunged into a time where racial tension is everywhere? Will we soon start having racial wars? Will racial violence be a normal every day occurrence? I don't know. No one could know. Unless we start taking action and helping people come to grips with the way they are we can't combat racism. People who don't see that racism is a problem are almost as bad as the racists themselves. Now, don't take that comment in the wrong way, but as long as they are unaware, racism won't stop. I am aware of racism. I am also not a racist myself. I have lived in a racist community for most of my life, thank god I haven't turned out like the rest of them. There is hope for everybody. The main purpose of the convention was to stabilize the emission of greenhouse gases. States agreed that they would lessen the green house emissions in their countries1. A second conference3 was held in Geneva Switzerland that led to a declaration, which stated the climate change levels were alarming, and needed strong commitments that were legally binding. There was then held a third conference in Kyoto in Japan whereby countries signed the Kyoto Protocol. The protocol gave targets for greenhouse gas emissions of specific countries. The protocol provided that upon the ratification by 55 industrialized countries it would come into full effect4. What did ratification imply? Ratification meant that countries would implement the protocol within their national institutions. The Kyoto Protocol is an agreement negotiated by countries under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The Kyoto protocol is a protocol that is aimed at reducing emissions of carbon-dioxide gases and greenhouse gases. This is seen whereby the protocol sets targets for countries that emit carbon dioxide and green house gases. This carbon gases include gases such as Hydrofluorocarbons, Perflourocarbons, sulfur hexafluoride, nitrous oxide and methane. The difference that is seen in the convention and the protocol is that the protocol encouraged industrialized countries to control or otherwise stabilize their green house emissions by co mmitting such countries to do so5. The protocol states that if the participating countries continue in the emission of the green house gases they should engage in trading of emission. The protocol uses both national and international mechanisms to ensure the reduction of green house gases. When it comes to national mechanisms, the protocol encourages countries to enact laws that will enhance the purpose of the protocol and therefore reduce the emission of these gases. On international mechanisms, the protocol has come up with three mechanisms that include emission trading, clean development mechanisms and joint implementation6. The protocol Emission trading is the buying of credits from the countries that have managed to exceed the targets set for reduction in order to offset their emissions. The protocol also has several means of monitoring it targets. To begin with is the keeping of a registry whereby countries keep a registry log in the United Nations Secretariat to ensure that c ountries comply with the rules of the protocol. This assignment will cover how a business can gain a competitive advantage over similar businesses in the same market using sources such as cost advantage and differentiation. What will also be discussed is the value chain model made by Porter, and this assignment will explain what the model was actually designed for. Furthermore, it will be explained how a business can use methods of competitive advantage through various stages of Porter’s Value Chain in order to help it maintain and increase the competitiveness of the business, and this will be done through assessing the operations of the business and locating exactly where any competitive advantage can be gained. Lastly, Porter’s value chain features 9 activities which can each be identified as being either a primary or support activity and what will then be explained will be how these primary and support activities can add value to a business, and whether or not support activities can be considered as being any more or any less important than a primary activity. A decision to retain an in-house arm of agency Weiden & Kennedy by Nike exemplify the concept of organizational design by allowing Nike use the agency’s creative designers to focus solely on Nike work, giving them un-parallel access to executives, researchers and anyone else who might provide Nike advertisers with their next inspiration for marketing greatness before listening to any other organization.Having the agency in the building is having them at their disposal at anytime they need them and also the agency will have to consider them first incase of any new ad or good idea discovered by the agency or when Nike needs to salvage a problem with the help of the agency. Using a flat structure helps get a lot of work in a short time but none-the-less can cause a lot of trouble as seen in Nike.With a more highly bureaucratic structure, also known as Mechanistic design, practices will be closely monitored to prevent such problems from arising. In a centralized design with many rules and procedures which have to be followed, a clear-cut division of labor and narrow spans of control and formal coordination, the higher management/ board of directors will be very well informed on what is happening in the organization at each and every level. Though organic design has more personal coordination a more strict coordination will help in preventing such issues.For example, if Nike had a tight structure, they would have a predictable goal, centralized authority on whom to report directly to, many rules and procedures they must abide by, a narrow span of control so as to control their workers/management’s practices, everyone has his/her specialized task, and formal and impersonal coordinator. Having this sort of clear division of labor and coordination helps keep the man agement well informed and they would have known and remedied the sweatshop labor before the allegations surfaced.Nike would have known the right factories to outsource to instead of using factories that fail to meet their standards. 3. Nike’s continued product innovation and successful marketing are due to the combination of functional and divisional organization using an operations department to insure communication between divisions. There is division of labor but it is not clearly identified. Origins and Key Developments According to Datamonitor (2012), Nike was established in 1964 by Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman.At the beginning, Nike was known as Blue Ribbon Sports which sold Tiger shoes. At that time, Knight shook hand with the Onitsuka Co in Japan in order to mass-produce products. In 1971, Knight and Bowerman planned to change their company from a footwear distributor to a company designs and manufactures athletic shoes. The name â€Å"Nike† was created in 1972 and the brand mark was designed by a student at Portland State University. The mid-1980s was a period of transition when Nike had made a wrong aerobics boom calculation which gave chances for other competitors to develop their businesses.Fortunately, in 1985, new ideas in a signature shoe for National Basketball Association from Michael Jordan helped Nike improve their performance. By the end of the 1980s, Nike has finished their IPO and became a publicly traded company. Secondly, Dat amonitor (2012) pointed out that Nike concentrates on technical innovation and cooperates with other famous companies to create a new range of products. The company is carrying out research to give advisories to athletic, coaches and trainers on effective designs, light materials and develops functions of products. Furthermore, Nike has built the relationship with Apple and has created a product for Apple’s users called Nike+ GPS. Nike+ GPS lets users track their pace, distance, time and calories-burned through their Iphone or Ipod (Nike, 2012).Consequently, many Apple’s users buy Nike footwear to discover this function on their devices. According to Datamonitor (2012), the global footwear market rose by 2. 6% and reached $196. 3 billion in 2009 and will achieve $230. 8 billion in 2014. The main threats that Nike is dealing with are the intense competition from Adidas in the international market. Moreover, in the US market, the company has to face cheaper imported footwear from Asia; especially China. It will have some effect on the price of Nike’s products and influence revenues of the company.In addition, according to BBC News (2009), there are about 8,000 pairs of counterfeit sports shoes from China imported to UK per month. It affects not only Nike’s revenues but also the image of company. Evaluation In spite of depending too much on third parties, there is evidence that Nike will try to tighten management in third party factories. Nike will reinforce inspectors and send them to different factories on the world (BBC News, 2008). These staff will ensure the product is produced following the right standards. Beside that, there are signs which show that Nike will develop well in India.According to Nike (2012), Nike wrested the rights to become the official kit sponsor for the India cricket team from 2010 to 2015. By this way, they will become famous in India since Indian is a crazy cricket fan. For another, in order to maintain the market leader position, it depends on Nike’s ability to increase innovation and sponsorship to compete with Adidas. Lee and Aiken (2010:250) report that Nike will investigate into High School League in Taiwan to develop a long term relationship between a company and young customer public events.Thus, Nike will continue to get feedback as well as works on research projects directly with customers, to get experiences in order to innovate their products (Ramaswamy, 2008:11). Finally, Nike will establish the relationship with the police in some countries to avoid counterfeit goods. In Croatia, Nike and Police cooperate together to find out counterfeit goods (Williamette Week, 2011). Though organic design has more personal coordination a more strict coordination will help in preventing such issues.For example, if Nike had a tight structure, they would have a predictable goal, centralized authority on whom to report directly to, many rules and procedures they must abide by, a narrow span of control so as to control their workers/management’s practices, everyone has his/her specialized task, and formal and impersonal coordinator. Having this sort of clear division of labor and coordination helps keep the man agement well informed and they would have known and remedied the sweatshop labor before the allegations surfaced.Nike would have known the right factories to outsource to instead of using factories that fail to meet their standards. 3.
